Bosch Compress 3000 Hot Water Heat Pump

Optimum performance for the environmentally-minded

The Bosch Compress 3000 is an air-to-water heat pump developed and manufactured in Europe, converting the same reliable technology used in refrigerators to extract heat from the air and transfer it into the water. This means that the heat pump reduces energy use by up to 65% compared to a conventional electric storage hot water. Operating down to -7°C the Compress 3000 provides you with energy efficient hot water even when it is cold outside.

The Heat Pump includes ‘smart controls’, which allow the user to maximise their savings while satisfying their hot water needs. Further comfort can be provided through the unit’s noise reduction mode. The unit also features an automatic anti-frost and disinfection mode so home owners can be rest assured that their unit will always operate at peak performance despite a colder climate.

The Bosch Compress 3000 can also be used to optimise energy usage in combination with a PV solar energy generation system. It consumes 1kWh of electricity to supply more than 3kWh for water heating.

Easy installation

The heat pump is designed for easy and low-cost installation and servicing.

Eligible for generous government rebates

The federal and state governments provide attractive incentives for consumers to purchase and install environmentally friendly appliances via the small-scale technology certificates (STC) scheme. Qualifying products are eligible for STCs based on the location, installation date, and megawatt hours displaced over the life time of the appliance. For the Bosch Compress 3000 heat pump this can be as much as $1000.

Typically the installer will claim the rebate from the government, and discount the price the consumer pays for the water heater. However, options are available for direct claiming via Greenbank. Greenbank is a company providing a service for consumers and businesses to directly claim the government rebates, instead of via the retailer or installer at the point of sale.

How does it work?

The Compress 3000 works by absorbing ambient energy and releasing the heat into the water stored in the tank. The only time it consumes electricity is when it operates the parts needed to transfer the heat and these energy requirements are three to four times lower than the energy it recovers from the air. The Heat Pump only uses the back-up element when the air temperature is outside the working range, that is, below 0°C.

Products invented for life

As with any Bosch product, we make products invented for life. That is why we offer a 2 year parts and labour warranty, but also a 5 year tank warranty.

The Bosch Compress 3000 is available as a 270L model.

Notes:

Heat pumps use the ambient temperature in surrounding air to heat water in the tank. This means as the air temperature around the tank decreases, the time taken to heat the full tank increases. Customers in colder climate and frost prone areas should consider this when deciding which type of Bosch system is best for their circumstances.

A water softening device is recommended for hard water application.
