Apaiser has been transforming bathware since 2000. With a vision to develop a durable and natural material, apaiserMarble® was created, comprising 80-90% reclaimed waste marble. Designed in Australia and handcrafted at their atelier in Thailand, the Apaiser collection is redefining the bathing experience.
WHAT IS APAISER’S COMMITMENT TO AUSTRALIAN QUALITY DESIGN?
As an Australian owned, global brand, our heritage and beauty of our local landscape has been a constant source of inspiration since our inception over 20 years ago. Visionary founder, Belinda Try,
had a dream to transform the bathroom from functional room to private sanctuary, bringing the natural allure of our environment into the space.
The dream became a journey to develop a durable, natural material that would become the foundation of a sustainable, design-led bathware collection, and so apaiserMarble® was born. Handcrafted with meticulous attention to detail and quality, our couture-level bathware combines innovation with traditional craftsmanship.
Though the brand has evolved, crafting bathware for stunning hotels, resorts and residences all over the world, to this day, each exquisite piece is designed in our Melbourne studio, and the influence of
our heritage is evident in each design. We are proud to be the first company to bring reclaimed marble bathware to the world and continue to lead as Australian innovators in the industry.
HOW IS APAISER BATHWARE MADE?
At the heart of our atelier is our material, apaiserMarble®. Made from 80-90% reclaimed marble, it was developed with minimal man-made ingredients, ensuring longevity and performance, whilst maintaining the alluring properties of natural marble. Warm and velvety to touch, its sculptural flexibility allows for organic, flowing forms that redefine bathware design.
Our approach to manufacturing is a balance of innovation and traditional craftsmanship. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted in our ISO 9001 and14001 certified atelier with minimal mechanisation, preserving the artistry of our master craftsmen. Each piece is precision moulded, wet sanded by hand, and passed through rigorous quality control to ensure consistency and beauty in
every item we craft. Our bathware is made to order, limiting over production and waste, and providing our clients with a tailormade approach to defining their bathing experience.
WHAT USE IS MADE OF RECYCLED MATERIAL AND WHAT OTHER ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY INITIATIVES ARE IN PLACE?
Since our conception, sustainability has been part of our DNA. Mirroring nature’s ability to renew and repurpose, we source discarded marble off-cuts, close to our atelier, milling and transforming waste destined for landfill, into revolutionary apaiserMarble®.
We integrate sustainable practices across our operations. Our atelier is designed to minimise pollution, with specially designed air filtration systems protecting our artisans and the external environment. Single- use plastics are banned, and water recycling and internal waste management systems are employed to reduce consumption and landfill. Little mechanisation is used in the handcrafting process, resulting in low energy consumption and lower carbon emissions.
Our pieces are designed to last and can be recycled and reused in production at end of life, ensuring a more circular approach to luxury.
WHAT IS BATH COUTURE, AND WHAT IS THE LATEST COLLECTION FROM THE HOUSE OF APAISER?
Bath Couture is our ultimate expression of bespoke luxury and has been instrumental in positioning us as a design-led bathware brand globally. Like haute couture in fashion, it represents custom-designed pieces, handcrafted from the finest fabric, tailored to each individual vision. It offers our clients the opportunity to develop one-of-a-kind design, relatively simply and cost effectively, working with our team of expert designers.
Our latest launch – Allegra: New Edition is a reimagining of one of our most adored collections. Celebrated for comfort, elegance and modern lines, it was originally revealed in 2010 as part of the renowned Edition Hotel, London, and apaiser is thrilled to unveil its next evolution.
Meaning ‘joy,’ Allegra is inspired by the joy of transformation. It has undergone a metamorphosis – forms refined, proportions perfected, and adaptability enhanced—while preserving its signature style. The collection now showcases three bath sizes, including our smallest bath to date, all carefully considered to ensure footprint is minimised, maintaining a sumptuous soaking experience, and a concealed pocket in the base of the bath design allows for more versatility in installation. Every piece in the collection is made to order, ensuring it is as unique as the space it inhabits.
Drawing inspiration from iconic forms – an English club chair or the disciplined curves of a Cartier timepiece, the Allegra collection embodies refined elegance and modern sophistication. Its sharp line and soft form appear as a confluence of both the masculine and feminine, resulting in a collection which transcends period and place, radiating both classic refinement and edgy urbanity.
