Daniel Robertson 470 Collection
Longer Lines, Lasting Impact
In an era where beauty, sustainability and material innovation are more important than ever, Brickworks is proud to introduce the Daniel Robertson 470 Collection, a long-format clay brick range designed to deliver timeless elegance and lasting performance for both residential and commercial projects.
Named for its 470 mm length, the 470 Collection was developed in response to growing demand for elongated horizontal lines and refined proportions in brickwork. This longer format allows for fewer vertical joints and greater design flexibility, supporting bold, modern façades and feature walls while retaining the handcrafted, richly textured finish that has defined the Daniel Robertson brand for decades.
Handcrafted at Brickworks’ carbon-neutral Longford plant in Tasmania, the 470 Collection reflects a commitment to sustainable production, embracing a made-to-order model that reduces waste and supports bespoke project requirements. Each brick measures 470 mm (L) × 110 mm (W) × 50 mm (H), delivering contemporary aesthetics without compromising the artisan tactility that remains a hallmark of Daniel Robertson bricks. The range is available in signature Traditional and Hawthorn colourways—including Apricot,
Grey Blend, Black, Red and London—making it suited to a wide variety of design styles and applications, from residential builds to large-scale commercial projects.
Beyond its striking design, the 470 Collection offers the proven performance of natural clay.
Crafted to deliver durability, colourfastness and low maintenance, these bricks require no paint or coatings to maintain their aesthetics and integrity over time. Unlike many lightweight alternatives, they offer lasting strength and resilience, helping ensure buildings retain their design appeal for generations. Certified non-combustible under the National Construction
Code, they are also suitable for bushfire zones. High thermal mass properties support energy- efficient design, helping to moderate indoor temperatures and reduce energy consumption.
Consistent with Brickworks’ broader commitment to sustainable materials and manufacturing, the 470 Collection is made to order to minimise waste while ensuring nationwide availability.
All Daniel Robertson bricks are backed by an exclusive 100-year warranty on colourfastness and durability.
“Long-format bricks offer designers the ability to create strong horizontal lines, refined proportions and a distinct sense of rhythm on façades,” says Brett Ward, General Manager – Marketing at Brickworks.
“With the Daniel Robertson 470 Collection, we’re expanding our range to give architects and builders more choice and flexibility, while staying true to the character, quality and sustainability that define our bricks. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to supporting thoughtful design and providing materials that contribute to a more sustainable built environment.”
Whether for new builds, heritage restorations or bold design statements, the Daniel Robertson 470 Collection embodies the union of modern proportion with time-honoured craft—designed to elevate projects with enduring beauty, sustainable performance and material integrity.
