Polestar partnership at Melbourne Art Fair

Polestar has announced a partnership with Melbourne Art Fair, continuing its collaboration with design, architecture, and art innovators who inspire change.

Melbourne Art Fair, held from February 20 – 23 at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, is a fixture on the Australasian cultural calendar, providing a forum for contemporary art and ideas from new and iconic artists.

Polestar’s Head of Colour and Material, Maria Uggla, will take part in the Fair’s CONVERSATIONS program, participating in a panel moderated by Amy Woodroffe and alongside artists Emily Medbury and Dr Peta Clancy, to discuss how sustainability is driving innovation.

Maria Uggla says: “Polestar is a brand that has design at its core, and is driven by its commitment to sustainability.

“Curiosity, and a desire to challenge the status quo, are essential if we’re to drive the car industry towards a cleaner future. We are constantly searching for new partners that inspire and challenge us to rethink industry norms.”

Polestar Australia Head of Marketing, Jonathan Williams, says:

“This partnership with Melbourne Art Fair gives Polestar a deeper insight into emerging issues and cultural trends, allowing us to engage with a diverse pool of artists and industry leaders.

“Melbourne Art Fair speaks to customers who understand and appreciate Polestar’s unique position as a climate-led design brand.”

Melbourne Art Fair Director, Melissa Loughnan, says:

“Melbourne Art Fair provides a platform for artists and audiences to engage with the critical issues of our time, and sustainability is a central topic to that conversation.

“We’re proud to be partnering with a car brand that uses design to drive sustainability, from top to bottom.”

Polestar’s luxury electric SUV, Polestar 3, will be used to transfer VIP buyers to and from the Art Fair in the Melbourne CBD.

Featuring ground-breaking composites requiring 50% less virgin plastic than conventional alternatives, fossil-free MicroTech interior trim, and carpets made from 100% recycled ECONYL polyamide, Polestar 3’s cabin illustrates how innovative materials can contribute to a more sustainable car.

Polestar has been collaborating with artists and designers to solve challenges since its inception in 2017. These initiatives have enabled Polestar to drive innovation, raise awareness around climate challenges, and gain an insight into emerging trends from the art world.
