Daylesford Macedon Ranges Flower Farmers launch inaugural Spring Trail

For the first time, the flower farmers of the Daylesford Macedon Ranges are joining forces to offer annually a series of events and experiences from each spring through to autumn.

The Daylesford Macedon Flower Farm Trail is the first major collaboration from local flower farmers, providing visitors an opportunity to experience slow flower therapy en masse, all within just an hour or so drive from Melbourne.

Visitors can book into a floral workshop, stay at boutique luxury flower farm accommodation, source DIY flowers for their upcoming event, indulge in the sensory experience of being among rows of perfumed flowers, picnic and pick their own peonies or choose a bunch of fresh-harvested blooms straight from a charming road-side stall.

Renowned for its cool climate wines, picturesque landscapes, mineral springs, weekend escapes, farmers markets and foodie scenes, Daylesford Macedon’s granitic-to-volcanic soils and moderate rainfall have more recently seen the region become known for its ethical, bee-friendly, sustainable flower farms. In fact, the region is now home to the highest concentration of Slow Flower Farmers in Victoria.

The trail launch has even garnered support from international speaker and author of the best-selling book about the slow movement “In Praise of  Slow” Carl Honore. “Congratulations to the Flower Farm Trail group on furthering the slow cause in a unique way with nature and reminding us of the great benefits of slowing down.”

The Daylesford Macedon Flower Farm Trail, which commences this spring, is hosted by Consortium Botanicus, a local group committed to supporting and promoting the local, seasonal, micro flower farm movement in Australia.
