Heide Museum of Modern Art auctions new bespoke Robin Boyd furniture

As part of the centenary celebrations for acclaimed Australian architect Robin Boyd (1919–1971), Heide Museum of Modern Art is offering a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to buy bespoke Boyd furniture at an auction on 27 October supported by Nelson Alexander.

Produced exclusively for Heide’s current exhibition Robin Boyd: Design Legend, the distinctive collection, comprising a pair of chairs, settee and coffee table originally designed by Robin Boyd for his Walsh Street home and Domain Park apartments, has been made under licence to Boyd’s original specifications by leading Australian distributor of unique designer furniture KFive + Kinnarps. Director, Erna Walsh commissioned acclaimed designer Garry Emery to create the stunning textiles covering the chairs and settee in the Heide collection, which were hand screen-printed by Spacecraft and contemporise the classic mid-century forms.

Funds raised by the auction will go towards Heide Museum of Modern Art’s exhibition program and to support the Boyd Foundation.
