Environmentally Conscious Demolition
Most demolition companies see no use in salvaging the waste from construction sites, yet it means years of beautiful history go to waste.
Detailed statistics on the size of the recycled timber market just aren’t available. A 2013-2104 Sustainability Victoria market report gives some perspective, it says that about one-hired of the 500,000 tonnes of timber waste that was generated in the state over that period was diverted from landfill. From that figure, less than half of it was diverted for re-use, meaning the vast majority was simply taken to landfill.
At Recycled Timber Innovations we try and remove as much of timber in the demolition stage as possible, which we then re-mill and turn into engineered floorboards.
