The New Day
This new project by Derlot, Morning After cafe, in Brisbane’s West End, is as fresh as. The design team, under the art direction of Alexander Loterzstain and Head of Interiors Pamela Georgeson, applied their signature holistic approach to the job, incorporating both their existing Derlot Editions furniture pieces as well as specially designed elements such as tables, chairs and stools, sofa, counter front, timber wall and shelving, brass pass out, table accessories, wall hooks, newspaper rack and lighting. The clients, mother and son team Soula and Yianni Passaris, envisioned a clean space to counter the edgy laneway grunginess of the surrounding neighbourhood. The cafe’s northern aspect ensures morning sunlight and the bifold windows and doors open to the street, offering “the indoor/outdoor experience so typical of the Queensland environment”.
