SCCI Fashion & Architecture Hub 2020

The Sherman Centre for Culture and Ideas (SCCI) launches its sixth iteration of its 10-day hub from 9-18 October 2020 presenting its two core topics of fashion and architecture together in a hybrid format for the first time.

In accordance with travel restrictions, the line-up of international VIP speakers from the UK, France, Japan and Israel will participate via virtual keynote films professionally produced and captured in their home countries.

Confirmed speakers include architects John McAslan (UK), Chris Wilkinson (UK), Tsuyoshi Tane and Kengo Kuma (Japan); public space art practitioner Diana Edmunds (UK); Bauhaus in Israel expert Yigal Gawze (Israel); fashion curator Akiko Fukai (Japan); President of historic Japanese textile manufacturer, Hosoo, Masataka Hosoo (Japan); historic couture valuer and auctioneer Kerry Taylor (UK); artist, activist, creative consultant and campaigner Daniel Lismore (UK); and textile, lifestyle and fashion designer Akira Minagawa (Japan).

A local speaker program of live panel discussions will also be announced featuring Australian cultural leaders to accompany this global suite of films, further delineating points of connection between fashion, architecture and other forms of cultural expression.
