In this issue, we profile Tara Bennett’s Provider Store, a fusion of Australian and Japanese sensibilities, selling a variety of design objects each with a sustainable, slow design ethos. Featuring architecture by TRIAS.

Then, our first architecture feature; House in Anglesea, by Matt Goodman Architecture Office, embraces the existing character of a mid-century home and layers a series of interventions that remedy the limitations of the original design.

Next up; A playful collaboration between MRTN Architects, SBLA Studio  and a client with strong views and unconventional needs has created a restorative take on the contemporary farmhouse.

For our third architecture feature; designed as an inner and an outer world, this house by Incidental Architecture provides both prospect and refuge while capturing the personalities of its clients.

Our fourth architecture feature; together with an architect and landscape architect, an engaged, design-savvy client with a passion for bush regeneration has created something extraordinary along a tributary of Melbourne’s Birrarung. Architecture by Studio Bright, landscape architecture by Bush Projects.

And for our last architecture feature; buffeted by all that Tassie weather might throw at a house and its inhabitants, this Coles Bay home – with a view to The Hazards due south – is respite personified.  Architecture by Ancher Architecture Office.

green magazine issue 104 - arch 5Our first landscape feature; Laak Boorndap will adopt a naturalistic and diverse approach, incorporating approximately 450 species that fuse indigenous flora with exotics. Led by an interdisciplinary team of landscape architects and horticulturalists – including Hassell Studio, Super Bloom, James Hitchmough, Nigel Dunnett and a research group from the University of Melbourne.

And our second landscape feature; in jeweller Liz Ickiewicz’ garden, soil, plant positioning and a little regular maintenance will get you most of the way, with beautiful hard landscaping doing the rest. Garden by Miniscape Projects and POTO, with architecture by Fowler and Ward.

green magazine issue 104 - landscape 2In our Not Wasted feature; under the guidance of Revival Projects – with sustainability consultation by HIP V. HYPE – a former wool store has been revived via a system of adaptive reuse, now operating as Bar Studio.

green magazine issue 104 - not wastedAnd finally for our travel feature; moving methodically, a collective of businesses – Barragunda – form a jigsaw to produce beautiful food and produce while diving deep into regenerative farming.
