Bruce Munro’s ‘From Sunrise Road’ Exhibition Is Opening Soon at Heidi
Bruce Munro: From Sunrise Road will show at Heide Museum of Modern Art in Bulleen, Victoria from 25 June to 16 October, Munro’s first Australian museum exhibition, combining spectacular indoor and outdoor experiential artworks with intimate story-pieces.
Light is an essential element of Munro’s remarkable practice, who is best known for his immersive, large-scale installations inspired by his interest in shared human experience. His exhibition at Heide reveals the depth of his practice and the breadth of his sources, from the personal and literary to the philosophical and spiritual. At once contemplative, playful and thought-provoking, it will offer an unforgettable interactive experience that engages the senses and enriches the mind.
On the opening day of the exhibition join Head Curator Kendrah Morgan for a talk and tour, and on Sunday 10 July Bruce Munro will give an exclusive talk sharing insights into his work and practice. Both events are included with museum admission.
The exhibition will stay open late every Thursday to Saturday so visitors can view the spectacular illuminated outdoor work after dark. With a delicious, warming food and beverage offering from the Heide Cafe, guided tours every Friday night and a weekend of projections in collaboration with the Centre of Projection Art, there is something to delight guests of all ages!
