The Gladstone Hotel’s 4th Annual Grow Op Exhibit

Featuring curators Christine Leu, Graham Teeple and Alan Webb, The Gladstone Hotel’s 4th annual Grow Op exhibit returns from April 21st – 24th, 2016.

Grow Op is not your typical garden show. This four-day festival will transform the hotel’s second floor with 30+ immersive installations that take on urbanism, environmental sustainability, landscape design and contemporary art. Think Allans Gardens meets Come Up to My Room!

Using the juxtaposition of urban and wild, this year’s theme, Cultivating Curiosity, inspires such timely and important questions as: can we use the lake to commute to work? Will local food be able to feed us all? How did that bear get into my backyard?

Incorporating powerful and subtle art forms like video, architecture, craft and design, each artist explores their relationship to space and nature in stunning, multi-sensory displays.

Expanding on the foundation developed by architect and co-founder Victoria Taylor, Grow-Op 2016 seeks to instigate a playful dialogue with guests, while allowing them to broaden their scope of understanding about our rapidly changing landscapes, and how culture frames our very ideas and nature itself.
