Hidden Design Festival 2016

Organised by The Australian Institute of Landscape Designers and Managers (AILDM), Hidden Design Festival will once again present a new selection of usually private designer gardens, courtyards and outdoor spaces open to the public. This year, Hidden Design Festival showcases another diverse range of outdoor spaces created by some of Sydney’s best-known and award-winning landscape designers. Most of the sites have never before been opened to the public and are unlikely to be again.

In addition to sites in Sydney, for the first time, Hidden Design Festival is having a second cluster of sites in the Blue Mountains. Gardens in Sydney will be open on the weekend 2-3 April 2016 and those in Mt Wilson and Mt Irvine on Saturday 30 April 2016. In previous years, Hidden Design Festival has been a huge success. Hundreds of people purchased tickets and visited some of Sydney’s best outdoor spaces designed by leading landscape designers and thousands of dollars were raised for the nominated charity.

In 2016, Hidden Design Festival is proud to support Fr Chris Riley’s Youth Off The Streets – a non-denominational community organisation working for disadvantaged young people who may be homeless, drug dependent and/or recovering from abuse. Youth Off The Streets supports these young people as they work to turn their lives around and overcome immense personal trauma such as neglect, physical, psychological and/or emotional abuse.  It is the charity’s goal that these young people will leave their care drug free, with a high school education, living skills and a full-time or part time job in hand.

Tickets are now on sale and can be purchased on the Hidden Design Festival Website.
