Good design enables good living,and we are seeing a shift where customers prefer to purchase higher quality products that will last a lifetime, rather than purchasing ‘fast fashion’ items which have a short lifespan and end up in landfill.

Sustainable materials are utilised throughout King Living products, including steel frames that can be recycled, cushion fillings that are recyclable or biodegradable and cardboard packaging that reduces the need for single-use plastics. Fabric wastage is minimised by mindfully utilising as much fabric as possible in a single roll, however when there are offcuts, they are donated to charities such as Global Sisters and Reverse Garbage to be repurposed.

From the beginning, King Living championed environmental design by creating its patented steel frame, with the lofty ambition to keep Australia furniture out of landfill. Today all King Living sofas have a 25-year steel Frame Warranty, which ensures products won’t wear out or require replacing. Removable covers also extend the life and versatility of your sofa, inviting you to update your sofa when you want to change up your space without breaking the bank.

Designed with sustainability in mind, all foam used in King Living furniture is CertiPUR-US certified, meaning it is made without ozone depleters, mercury, lead and other heavy metals, formaldehyde, PBDEs, TDCPP or TCEP flame retardants and has low Volatile Organic Compound emissions for indoor air quality.

At the end of your furniture’s lifespan, cushions and sofas are stripped down and the foam is sent to a supplier to be reused and repurposed into punching bags and soft toys. All steel framework is stripped down to its purest form and melted down to be graded and reused also.
