Grow it Local Melbourne celebrates backyard, balcony, community and windowsill food farming in urban areas. It’s about supporting local food producers, sharing growing know-how and bringing people together.

As part of the 2015 Sustainable Living Festival Grow it Local targeted Melbourne with a 6-week outreach campaign culminating in Melbourne's largest Local Growers' Feast. The Melbourne Town Hall joined in the crowd farming campaign, with flower crates converted into a growing oasis over February and harvested for the Feast. Over 170 patches across Melbourne were registered, which equated to over 30,000 sqm of urban farms. The story was widely covered on radio, newspapers and online, and gathered a huge momentum on social media, in particular Instagram, see the #growitlocal tag for some growing inspiration.
