Could the Yarra River – Birrarung be Swimmable?
As winter settles in, Melbourne Conversations invites you to join us for another evening of spirited discussion.
Would you swim in the Yarra River – Birrarung? Together with scientists, designers, and city leaders, we will unpack why the idea has captured the public imagination and what it would take to make it a reality. We will consider why water quality, ecological restoration, civic pride and caring for Country shape the way we share the river. From global precedents to Melbourne’s unique river system, join us to explore what a swimmable river could represent for the future of the city.
Light refreshments provided.
The Swimmable Birrarung is presented by Melbourne Conversations with event partner Fed Square.
Date: Mon 15 June
Time: 6pm – 7:15pm
Location: The Edge, Fed Square
