National Tree Day and Schools Tree Day 2018

Are you ready to get your hands dirty? That’s the question Planet Ark is asking Australians as they gear up for their annual Schools and National Tree Days.

Since 1996 over 24 million trees have been planted by almost four million people, and the events are a great way for participants to reconnect with their community and enrich their natural environment.

● Friday, July 27 2018 – Schools Tree Day In 2017, more than 217000 students at over 2600 schools participated in Schools Tree Day, which sees schools plant trees or tend school gardens.

● Sunday, July 29 2018 – National Tree Day Australia’s largest tree planting event will be happening again this year, and Planet Ark is encouraging councils, landcare and other community groups to register plans in advance. From outdoor yoga and dune care to rooftop gardening and faith group gatherings, there are plenty of ways to get involved!
