Women in Design

Design Tasmania is presenting the first Women in Design colloquium as part of a three year strategy in July 2015. The colloquium brings together design thinkers and doers to share their stories and thoughts on the subject and plan together for the future.

The event will merge panel discussions, in-conversation interviews, keynote presentations, a cocktail function, long table dinner and a curated exhibition at Design Tasmania, Launceston, Tasmania.

The Design Tasmania complex combines world-class heritage (c1896) with contemporary architecture (c2002), the building was listed as one of the top 1000 contemporary buildings in the world (Phaidon Atlas of Contemporary Architecture, London, Phaidon Press, 2004).

Purpose built exhibition galleries double as one of Australia’s premium event locations, surrounded by Launceston’s City Park and in close walking proximity to accommodation, UTAS, museums and the city centre.

The inspired line-up of national speakers include Tamara Winikoff OAM (NSW), Simone LeAmon(VIC), Jess Scully (NSW), Laura McCusker (TAS), Helen Kontouris (VIC), Leah Heiss (VIC), Dr Pippa Dickson (TAS), Anita Dineen (TAS), Justine Clark (VIC), Kirsty Mate (TAS), Daniella Casamento (VIC), Claire Beale (NSW) with more speakers to be announced in coming weeks.
