Vote for your favourite NSW architecture projects

For the first time ever, the public is invited to vote for their favourite ‘Life in 2020’ in the NSW Architecture Awards, a program presented by the Australian Institute of Architects.

The prestigious awards recognise the best architecture projects across the state, from homes to offices and beyond.

The NSW People’s Choice Awards for Life in 2020 are an opportunity for the public and peers to have their say about the places they would like to live in, work in and visit in these unusual times.

Categories in the NSW People’s Choice Awards for Life in 2020 are:
_Isolation Oasis – Your dream quarantine digs
_We Are In This Together – Pick your preferred essential workplace
_Post-iso Party – Your favourite post-lockdown celebration venue

NSW chapter president Kathlyn Loseby says that the we are appreciating the quality of our spaces more than ever before and wants the public to get excited about exploring the best new architecture projects.

“The introduction of the people’s choice awards is a response to the challenges we face in 2020. As such, we would like everyone to be thinking more about architecture and the places that surround us following a period of lockdown restrictions,’ she says. ‘I encourage everyone to vote for their favourite projects.”

With voting open to all, this playful set of awards celebrates the projects that inspire us in the context of our altered relationships to housing, workplaces, centres of essential community services and the public domain.

2020 also marks the first time that the public is able to watch the awards ceremony, previously reserved for members only, via a free YouTube livestream.

Voting for the people’s choice awards is now open and closes on Thursday 18 June. To cast your vote, visit architecture.com.au/nsw-peoples-choice-awards-2020

Winners will be announced at the 2020 NSW Architecture Awards presentation via YouTube livestream on 3 July at 7.00pm – 8.00pm with details here.
