For our third architecture feature; melding together contemporary and mid-century design, this 1950s house has been given a longer life and an even more desirable quality. Architecture by clayton orszaczky architects.
And for our last architecture feature; canny clients who saw potential in a tricky, affordable site team up with local architects to create a satisfyingly simple, economical and beautifully realised regional home. Architecture by sense of space.
In this issue’s ‘Not Wasted’, we feature a small cabin by Wellington-based architect Gerard Gerard Dombroski, made during a monthlong residency with a simple brief: build something using only found materials.Our first landscape feature; a modest extension grows into a family sanctuary where architecture and landscaping encourage blue sky thinking. And our second landscape feature; well on its way to becoming a culinary legend, this Otways destination, known around the world, happily relies on its equally famous farm garden. Featuring Brae and The Sustainable Restaurant Association.
And finally for our travel feature; a big city suburb in the form of a stunning seaside village, Manly overflows with treasures both physical and culinary. All kicked off by one of the world’s great ferry rides.
