Dowel Jones launches flagship store

Australian design brand Dowel Jones, launch their flagship store at Victoria’s BOOM Gallery following another momentous year that included a presentation at the illustrious Milan Design Week plus, the debut of their first upholstered furniture collection at their New York City pop-up Lobby.

Founded in 2013 by Dale Hardiman and Adam Lynch, Dowel Jones has wowed the international design community with their simplified approach to furniture, lighting and accessories, winning multiple awards locally and abroad.

Dowel Jones proudly simplifies objects to the bare essentials without compromising on aesthetic values, creating unique pieces for the home and commercial interiors. Blurring the lines between furniture, fine art and fun, Dowel Jones never loses its fundamental philosophy of functionality and sustainable design.

“We’re passionate about evolving our approach to design, which means exploring new and alternative ways of creating designs and collaborating with other designers.” — Adam Lynch, Co-Founder, Dowel Jones.

With some exciting designs and collaborations under their belt for 2018, Dowel Jones prepares to showcase new collaborations and limited edition pieces alongside best-sellers at its new store. Partnering with long-term friends BOOM Gallery; the team has created an inviting space that sits somewhere between a gallery and a shop, with all furniture, lighting and design objects available for purchase.

“We love that BOOM Gallery has cultivated a community for art and design in Geelong and we’re very pleased and excited to be joining this growing community.” — Dale Hardiman, Co-Founder, Dowel Jones.

BOOM Gallery, known for its representation of Australian artists and contemporary fine art and design, is located in Geelong, one hour south-west of Melbourne and just down the road from the Dowel Jones factories, where pieces are crafted by hand with a focus on personality and simplicity.

“BOOM Gallery is a huge admirer of Adam and Dale and everything they have already been able to achieve with Dowel Jones. Showing their work in a dedicated gallery space is a really exciting new initiative for BOOM and further endorsement of Geelong as a UNESCO City of Design.” — Ren Inei, Gallery Director, BOOM Gallery.

Appointed as Australia’s City of Design by UNESCO in 2017, Geelong, the former industrial city by the bay, is fast-emerging as a cultural hub for creativity and design.
