Inside Art and Architecture: Julian Brenchley

Architect Julian Brenchley, designer behind the popular television series, The Block, will be speaking at Melbourne’s Gasworks Arts Park Thursday 7 March as part of the venue’s Inside Art and Architecture series of monthly talks.

Involved with The Block since its inception, Julian’s most recent transformation was The Gatwick Hotel in St Kilda into residential apartments and 2019 will see him take on another local project in the Oslo Hotel.

The Inside Art and Architecture program offers an engaging introduction to the often-hidden processes and worlds behind our built environment and artistic practice. Mr Brenchley will discuss his philosophy and approach to designing buildings that are enriching for the user and sustainable in the future, specifically addressing issues on reading the environment and creating responsive architecture.
