Archive Design: architects matched to your project by style

Archive Design matches Australian homeowners with residential architects whose existing work already fits their project. Instead of trawling portfolios and cold-calling practices, you share your brief once and see the architects whose built and unbuilt work suits your site, budget and style.

How it works for homeowners

  • Share your brief. Your site, how you want to live, your style references and your budget. Most people finish in about ten minutes.
  • See anonymised matches. You judge each architect on their work first, before names or reputation come into it.
  • Go ahead only if it fits. An introduction happens only if there’s a fit, and you pay only if you choose to go ahead.

Not sure you need an architect yet? A free three-minute check gives a plain recommendation, and it may tell you that you don’t.

For architects

Archive Design is building its founding network of residential practices. Architects show built and unbuilt work, plans and documents, and are matched only with homeowners whose brief suits their way of working, rather than competing on price for every lead. The first 100 architects join free. Apply to join the network.

Research

We publish open research for homeowners, including how long it really takes to get from first idea to lodged plans, and which NSW renovations paid off at resale.
