Build a Future: From Circularity to Real Zero in Construction

For two days during Melbourne Design Week Breathe Architecture is hosting a series of speakers and panel discussions in a deep dive into low-carbon, low waste, circular materiality. The discussions will take place at Breathe’s offices in 7 Alfred Street, bringing together a small, dedicated audience of designers and specifiers alongside manufacturers, makers and researchers. The focus is on construction’s impact on climate and the environment, and how to do better.

Alongside these gatherings there will be a pop-materials library, showcasing a wide range of products and materials that are leading the way in sustainable building. Samples, swatches, boards and blocks from a range of Australia’s leading sustainable material makers and manufacturers—the best in class across circular practices, low carbon and low waste production.

Attendance is intentionally limited, to foster genuine discussion and allow for open dialogue about the challenges and opportunities in our journey to build a better world.

We would like to thank Philippa Abbott and Josh Riesel from Pelagic Earth for helping to frame this event and all the speakers who have committed their time and energy to the discussion.

Thanks also to Sarah D’Sylva of Hyloh for generously loaning her materials library for the event.

Please note: revenue from all ticket sales will be donated to the Wurundjeri Land Council.
