Vivid Sydney by Authentic Design Alliance and Factory Design District

The Authentic Design Alliance has come together with Factory Design District to present two events in June as part of Vivid Ideas 2017 with panel discussions exploring the creative processes behind handmade bespoke objects right through to large scale manufactured designs.

The first event to be held on June 1st is hosted by the Australian Design Centre and is a series of five lightening presentations that will be moderated by Karen McCartney entitled “Handmade: Back to where we started?”

The impressive speaker lineup includes Fiona Spence of Spence & Lyda, Jon Goulder of Jam Factory, Andrew Simpson of Vert Design, Lisa Cahill from the Australian Design Centre and William Smart of Smart Design Studio.

Tickets are only $25 and include entry to the panel discussion, which is then followed by networking drinks.

The second event will be held on June 10th and is hosted by Good Design Australia as part of the Good Design Exchange held at the Overseas Passenger Terminal, Circular Quay.

The design presentation will see three award-winning designers unmask their design processes in “Sketch. Prototype. Product. What is design process?

Moderated by Anne-Maree Sargeant, director of Authentic Design Alliance, the panel will be joined by Tomek Archer; Sarah Gibson and Nick Karlovasitis of DesignByThem; and Michael Young. Following the design presentation, guests are invited to stay for networking drinks and to view the VIVID lights on the Sydney Opera House, as the venue overlooks the impressive display.

While this June 10th event is free to attend, seats must be reserved to attend and can be booked online.
