The Finders Keepers Markets are heading to Brisbane

Finders Keepers design market returns to sunny Brisbane this 2nd and 3rd July. Presenting another carefully curated line-up at The Old Museum in Bowen Hills, you can head straight from the poll booths to the Finders Keepers markets to catch Australian designers on their rise to fame.

Consistently presenting a diverse range of specialist pieces, Finders Keepers visitors can expect to find innovative fashion, kids wear, hand-crafted ceramics, letterpress stationery, fine jewellery, succulent terrariums and so much more. Opening Saturday and Sunday from 9am to 4pm, entry is just $2 for adults, and free for children under the age of 12.

The popular market sees the debut of Instagram-famous Brisbane-based artists Lilly Piri and Mel Stringer. Bringing their popular signature artworks as well as zines, stickers, badges, totes and even wooden animals; make sure you check out their stall as these two continue on their path to mega-stardom.

“I’ve been meaning to do this market for so long!” says Stringer. “After becoming good friends with Lilly, it just felt right. I’m looking forward to seeing all of our crazy cool followers, watching our wares get taken home by beautiful people while hanging out and having a fun time!”

Whilst curators are certain to reflect fresh items found in the community by ensuring approximately 30% of stallholders are brand new to the markets, or new to Brisbane, visitors can also expect to find their much-loved favourites.

Designers and artists are continuously developing themselves and their work, with that organic growth nurtured both by shoppers, and the community itself. Having made her market debut in Melbourne in 2015, Monica Harthorne, will be hosting a stall featuring her eponymous jewellery label in Brisbane.

“Meeting and greeting my customers and other designers, discovering all of the amazing products on offer by such a talented bunch is what I look forward to the most!” says Harthorne. “The Finders Keepers are the most supportive and well-run markets in Australia, and they take such great care to showcase the best emerging talent in the Australian design industry.”

Featuring her range of men’s neckties, bow ties, pocket squares and socks all designed and made in Australia, Vicki Runnegar of marcello neckwear loves being in Brisbane for a little people-watching.

“Brisbane isn’t afraid to be itself or have a little colour. The people are eclectic, genuine and approachable” says Runnegar. “The Finders Keepers Markets are a great forum to meet new and existing customers in person…it has great atmosphere, just like a garden party with food and music!”
