Bunker

This modern rammed earth design was initially devised for a young family. The family needed space for their growing family with open plan living. The block was the perfect orientation for a solar passive design with the living areas to the rear to maximise the northerly garden aspect. As this home is on a normal suburban house block we needed to give the family privacy without compromising the aesthetic.

To the front of the home we have set the double glazed windows high, at a level that allows maximum light but the view from the rooms is of the trees not the surrounding properties. With all windows being double glazed and all walls highly insulated this home will have minimal heating and cooling requirements. All lights are LED and all plumbing fittings are 4 star. We have installed an energy efficient oven, induction cooktop and dishwasher. The home also is solar powered and battery ready.

With the amazing way this home came together ticking all the boxes we decided to add an adaptation of this design to our range and called it “Bunker”.
