Kuda Villingili Resort Maldives

Drawing inspiration from its beautiful natural surroundings, Kuda Villingili is one of the latest properties developed by MFAR in North Malé Atoll. Artfully crafted to balance relaxation with adventure, seclusion with togetherness, and local spirit with cultural diversity, the concept is entirely experience-driven. The breathtaking island resort blends contemporary Asian design with a firm sense of place and omnipresent intuitive luxury, bespoke experiences, and world class hospitality and service.

The team behind this idyllic and magical haven is local architectural firm GX Associates, in conjunction with Singaporean interior design firm URBNarc. They have conceived a luxurious resort which seamlessly fuses distinctly Maldivian architecture and local crafts, with minimalist Asian influences.

“We take our inspiration from the country, culture, and site the hotel is located in. For this project, we took cues from the Maldivian fabric motifs, the ocean’s changing colors, and the existing flora.” says Agung Pamudji, Interior Design Director at URBNarc.

Inside the 96 luxury villas, the overwhelming feeling is of spaciousness. The understated interiors respectfully complement the natural environment, and feature organic textiles, natural wood and stone, and eco-friendly furniture and fixtures such as carpets made from recycled plastic bottles, and our own sustainable apaiserMARBLE^® freestanding baths and vanity top basins. Materiality and decoration are minimal to maximise the guests engagement with the spectacular views. The calming, earthy palette reflects the azure of the ocean and lush tropical surrounds. All of this is accomplished with exceptional craftsmanship and thoughtful attention to detail, for a timeless and unforgettable guest experience.

In the guest bathrooms, floor to ceiling windows provide undisturbed views of the glistening ocean while you soak in our spacious Sublime bath. Fundamental to the guest experience is consideration of all the senses. URBNarc selected our handcrafted stone baths and basins for its durability, sustainable design, and the tactile and sensual touch of our apaiserMARBLE. Twin Soka basins in a matching custom finish complete the private bathroom oasis.

The resort has an emphasis on wellness and so designed a state-of-the-art spa with eight overwater, oceanfront spa villas, dedicated to holistic self-care and wellness treatments. Pivotal to the spa experience are sumptuous Made-to-Measure Zen baths, allowing guests to relax in an aromatic therapeutic bath while looking out into the turquoise lagoon and listening to the sound of the ocean.
