Entries open for the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards

For the eighth consecutive year, the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards is running again and entries are now open. Following the success of previous years, the Awards program is designed to celebrate innovative use of timber in the built environment and to award high calibre projects that showcase timber in inspiring and creative ways.

Architects, Landscape Architects, Specifiers and design professionals across Australia and New Zealand are invited to enter residential, commercial and landscape projects that demonstrate distinctive and visionary use of timber.

Following a record number of entries last year, Intergrain Senior Brand Manager, Sonia Tousis anticipates an even greater response this year. “It’s an exciting time for the industry. Timber continues to be a preferred material for design professionals with an ever evolving breadth of solid, modified and engineered timber options.”

“The change to the building code in Australia represents a new era for timber in construction, so it will be fascinating to see how this starts to manifest with respect to design innovation”

This year’s judging panel will again be made up of esteemed industry professionals who will award winners across 5 categories – Residential Interior, Residential Exterior, Commercial Interior, Commercial Exterior and Landscape. Each category winner will receive $2,000 cash plus up to 100 litres of Intergrain Timber Finishes.

All winners, commendations and special mentions will receive a certificate. For project entries finished in Intergrain Timber Finishes, the most outstanding entry will be awarded the ultimate prize of a $15,000 Travel Bursary.

Entries are now open and close on Sunday July 9. A shortlist will be announced with winners awarded at the Intergrain Timber Vision Awards Breakfast to be held in Melbourne in September.

2016 Intergrain Timber vision Award winners included: 106 Flinders Street by Bates Smart, Merricks Equestrian Centre by Watson Architecture + Design, McCulloch Avenue Boardwalk by Site Office, West End House by Richard Kirk Architect, LuxeTen by Maria Danos Architecture and Cumulus Inc. were the Travel Bursary Award winners.
