Public Symposium Perth

From April 15 – 17th, 2015 FORM brings leading artists and cultural figures to Perth for the PUBLIC SYMPOSIUM. As the world’s population becomes increasingly urbanised, there’s a need for us to ask more than ever before of the cities and public spaces we share. We’re asking more of the people who design them. We are looking for environments which respond to our desire to belong and also to lead positive, productive lives.

The Symposium will be a great opportunity to learn from internationally renowned experts fundamental in enacting and communicating social change and development.  The Symposium will bring to Western Australia some of the world’s foremost experts in urban and social change, public policy and cultural change.  Keynote speaker Enrique Penalosa, urban strategist and former Mayor of Bogota Columbia, will address the Symposium and set the tone for what will be an incredible couple of days.  Jesper Christiansen of MindLab, Denmark, will join with Paul Collard, CEO of Creativity, Culture and Education UK, among others, discussing the importance of leadership and engagement in public action.

This Symposium will be a great opportunity for participants to engage with experts instrumental in influencing social change in their own communities. The Symposium includes masterclasses and labs which support participants to engage directly with the speakers.

The Symposium is a two day event at the Western Australian State Theatre Centre.
